Fred had created this song for a solo performance he was working on and wanted something that a track that could stand on its own, but that he could also perform to. After tracking the vocals, the challenge of mixing was underway; however, I only had the stereo .wav of Fred’s demo track. He was able to send me his Garageband file, after which I then had to rebuild his arrangement in Logic. By doing this, I was able to have greater control over the mix.
